Set to debut on May 10th, 2019, the second full trailer has arrived from Fox Searchlight for their Tolkien film. The biopic focuses on J. R. R. Tolkien and has been developed for a while with it initially moving forward in 2013 before it finally got everything together in 2017 where it filmed over the last few months of the year.
Directed by Dome Karukoski based on the screenplay by David Gleeson and Stephen Beresford, the film stars Nicholas Hoult, Lily Collins, Colm Meaney, Anthony Boyle, Patrick Gibson, Tom Glynn-Carney, Craig Roberts, Laura Donnelly, Genevieve O’Reilly, Pam Ferris, and Derek Jacobi.
Plot Concept: TOLKIEN explores the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow outcasts at school. This takes him into the outbreak of World War I, which threatens to tear the “fellowship” apart. All of these experiences would inspire Tolkien to write his famous Middle-Earth novels.
