The news earlier this year that Sony Pictures is setting things up for a Ghostbusters film new film has certainly been met with a range of responses. The property is coming back in 2020 with Jason Reitman directing and now some new casting is being teased with two actors being revealed as being in talks to join the production. First, Carrie Coon is looking to play a single mom in the film and that it’ll be Finn Wolfhard playing the son. Coons recently had a small role in Avengers: Infinity War but is better known for fantastic roles in Fargo and The Leftovers. Wolfhard comes from Stranger Things and the recent It reboot.

This new film will follow events from the original story and serve as a “sequel” to the ’80s films and is not associated with the 2016 film.

The film is planned for summer 2020 with a firm date to come.

Reitman has co-written the film with Gil Kenan and production is set to begin in summer 2019. No casting has been revealed at this point for it.
