With the changes Funimation has been going through after the break from Crunchyroll for their streaming partnership, it’s not too much of a surprise to see them rework their membership plans. With the intent of being more competitive in gaining more exclusives, and shuttling less to some other services as we’ve seen them do before, they’re looking to increase the bang for the buck for the members. Beginning April 10th, 2019, there’ll be three paid tiers with some interesting add-ons available to it. All three tiers are ad-free and have HD access to the entire library. But it’s what you want beyond that which is where things get a bit more interesting depending on your own unique situation. As always, remember that your needs may not be the same as others and they’ll find useful things in a tier you may not. All existing Premium subscribers will shift on April 9th, 2019 to the Premium Plus plan at $5.99 per month, which means you’re already saving.
Premium Tier
For the cost-conscious fans, we offer the Premium membership tier for just $5.99 per month. If you want to save even more money, choose the annual membership at $59.99 – a full year for for the price of just 10 months! This membership comes with two simultaneous user streams for limited sharing.
Premium Plus Tier
For the fan that wants to share with friends and family, we offer the Premium Plus membership for only $7.99 per month, or annually for $79.99 – a full year for the price of just 10 months. This tier includes all the benefits of the Premium membership, PLUS you can share ad-free anime with up to five simultaneous user streams, AND you get access to our Download-to-Go feature, which lets you download episodes of your favorite shows to your Android or iOS phone or tablet to watch anime even if you don’t have internet access. Premium Plus membership includes access to special member-only events in your area, and benefits at Funimation Shop like periodic special offers, early access to select online sales, and free shipping on orders over $20. Remember, on April 10, 2019, all existing Premium subscribers will be automatically upgraded to Premium Plus membership AT NO ADDITIONAL COST!
