The second season of Star Trek: Discovery is underway and it’s about halfway through its run I believe but now we know more is coming. CBS All Access has renewed the series for a third season and has revealed that Michelle Paradise will serve as co-showrunner with Alex Kurtzman. Paradise has been involved in the second season as a co-executive producer and it’s the season where Kurtzman took over as showrunner.
The cast includes Sonequa Martin-Green as Rainsford, Doug Jones as Saru, Anthony Rapp as Stamets, James Frain as Sarek, Terry Serpico as Anderson, Maulik Pancholy as Nambue, Sam Vartholomeos as Connor, Michelle Yeoh as Georgiou, Shazad Latif as Kol, Chris Obi as T’Kuvma and Mary Chieffo as L’Rell.
Alex Kurtzman will serve as executive producer for the new Star Trek TV series. Kurtzman and Heather Kadin will serve as executive producers.
Plot concept: Season Two finds the crew of the USS Discovery joining forces with Capt. Christopher Pike on a new mission to investigate seven mysterious red signals and the appearance of an unknown being called the Red Angel. While the crew must work together to unravel their meaning and origin, Michael Burnham is forced to face her past with the return of her estranged brother, Spock.
