During the Nintendo Direct, Nintendo and Game Freak announced Pokémeon Sword and Shield the newest mainline entry to the Pokémeon game series for the Nintendo Switch. The series will take place in Galar region with Grookey (Grass), Scorbunny (Fire), and Sobble (Water) being the three primary Pokemon. The region will feature multiple terrains from ice and snow regions, to grass planes.
Sword and Shield will be notable for the first mainline Pokémeon series to appear on a Nintendo home console and not on a portable console*.
Pokémeon Sword and Shield will come out Fall 2019 with a worldwide release on the Nintendo Switch.
