Second ‘Altered Carbon’ Season Teases Cast Additions With New Promo

New Stacks. New Sleeves. Familiar Faces. Altered Carbon Season 2 is now in production.

I didn’t get into the first season of Altered Carbon until months after it debuted but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the news that an anime feature film is coming as well. The second season is in production and Netflix has dropped a new promo to highlight that fact and some of the cast additions and updates to it. We knew previously that Anthony Mackie was taking on the leading role with the body change. The promo now makes further confirmations with Renee Elise Goldsberry back as Quellcrist and Chris Conner as Poe. New additions include Torben Liebrecht as Colonel Ivan Carrera, James Santo as Tanaseda Hideki, Dina Shihibi as Dig 301, and Simone Missick as Trepp.

The second season is slotted at eight episodes with most of the main staff back on the production and showrunner side.

Property Concept: Based on the classic cyberpunk noir novel by Richard K. Morgan, Altered Carbon is an intriguing story of murder, love, sex, and betrayal, set more than 300 years in the future. Society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent. Takeshi Kovacs is the lone surviving soldier in a group of elite interstellar warriors who were defeated in an uprising against the new world order. His mind was imprisoned, “on ice”, for centuries until Laurens Bancroft, an impossibly wealthy, long-lived man, offers Kovacs the chance to live again. In exchange, Kovacs has to solve a murder … that of Bancroft himself.
