This is it, the final battle.
The Princess has ensconced herself and her minions in the Ruins at the South Pole. The last chance for humanity, before the Princess resets the world and kills all life, is a ragtag bunch of soldiers and Seigi. Simply bombarding the ruins with traditional bombs does nothing. They can’t even break open the barrier around the ruins to gain access. Luckily, Seigi’s unique Spell Crest allows him to open a door into the ruins for everyone to gain access.
Once inside, everything that could go wrong, does go wrong. Many of the soldiers are killed immediately while the survivors are split up into small groups. This makes it easier for the Princess’s minions to pin down the “good guys” and eliminate them. Things quickly turn into a bloodbath for the soldiers that initially survived entering the ruins. The Princess’s sisters are powerful and deadly, but things are even worse since the ruins are their home turf.
Unfortunately for Seigi’s comrades, he was singled out and spirited away from the others. That means none of them can rely on him and the strength of his Spell Crest. The unluckiest group end up facing Harsha and her ability to control how the people around her move. Add that to the fact that she is literally a demon that enjoys finding new and more painful ways to kill people, and those up against her don’t have a chance. Can anyone survive long enough against the onslaughts of the sisters to find Seigi and regroup?
In Summary:
This volume manages to reach a new level of gore. Being the last battle to save the planet from the Princess’s plans to wipe out all life, ground inside the ruins is gained in inches and body parts. It is a little too soon to tell, but I wonder if this is going to be a series that ends with pretty much every character ending up in a grave? Hey, I meant they even have the President of the U.S. in a body armor suit fighting inside the ruins, so the final death toll could be one to rival any war-themed manga series!
