‘Mobile Suit Gundam Origin’ Anime TV Version Detailed

Gundam Origin Hulu HeaderWe had learned previously that the Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin OVA series was going to be reworked slightly for a TV broadcast as the episodes are broken out into more traditional sizes and some smoothing of story pieces would be added here and there to help out with the pacing and continuity. Now, the Gundam.info site has revealed that the show will be known as Mobile Suit Gundam the Origin – Eve of the Red Comet and that it’ll run for 13 episodes beginning on April 29th, 2019 on NHK General.

Originally released in 2015, the series was directed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and Takashi Imanshi based on the series composition by Katsuyuki Sumisawa. Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and Tsukasa Kotobuki handled the character designs and Sunrise produced the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Megumi Han as Artesia Som Deikun/Sayla Mass, Shuuichi Ikeda as Casval Rem Deikun/Édouard Mass, Char Aznable and Tetsuya Kakihara as Garma Zabi.

The English cast includes Keith Silverstein as Casval Rem Deikun/Édouard Mass, Maggie O’Connor as Artesia Som Deikun/Sayla Mass and Chris Niosi as Garma Zabi.

Plot concept: Universal Century 0068. Side 3 – the Autonomous Republic of Munzo. Zeon Zum Deikun, who has been leading Munzo toward independence from the Earth Federation, collapses and dies in the middle of a speech. As the Zabi family seizes control of Side 3, Deikun’s children, Casval and Artesia, take refuge on Earth and begin peaceful lives under new identities. But the Zabi family is preparing for war with the Federation, and the two orphans will find themselves drawn into the growing conflict. Based on the hit manga by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, ”MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM THE ORIGIN” depicts for the first time the events leading up to the devastating One Year War, including the creation of the mobile suit and the origins of the legendary ace pilot Char Aznable, the infamous ”Red Comet”.
