What they say:
The murderous meal that the Moran Mafia have been serving is finally coming to an end. The plates are cleared. And now it’s time for their just desserts.

Both sides have blood on their hands. Both families have lost more than they can bare. The remaining Khoury’s flee back to the safety of Minnesota as the Irish Mafia chases them across state lines to finish what they started. There can only be one victor, but in war, anyone can die.

In this final chapter, we finally find out who is a “gyro” and who…is very dead.

From Eliot Rahal, the writer of Cult Classic, The Paybacks, and Quantum & Woody comes HOT LUNCH SPECIAL, with art by Jorge Fornes (Amazing X-Men, Wolverine, Magnus)!

The Moran family is slowly limping into the trap set by Dorothy Khoury and her family. When we last left off from the criminal scheme, Dorothy had taken the life of Irish mob boss ‘Big’ Jim Moran’s son Liam. Now, she and her brother Danny have called in a mysterious operative to provide the tools they need to finish off the mob and move on with their lives.

Jodan Khoury is attending a trade show while his progeny craft an ending that enemies of the Khoury clan won’t soon forget. He and his brother Ian are handling the fallout from Moran’s initial salvo. The mob boss has managed to convince several long term contract holders with Khoury foods to jump ship. Ian, the younger brother of patriarch Jordan, ruthlessly ends decades-old contracts with fantastic coolness. His zero f@@ks level has reached zero.

At last, all the pieces for the grand plan are on the board and moving. Moran meets with Dorothy, Jordan, and Ian in hopes of retrieving his son. What he doesn’t realize is that Liam is dead and strapped to his wheelchair are four sticks of dynamite. When the mobster enters the room Dorothy slams the door shut and Jordan triggers an explosion that spreads debris into the streets. The Khoury’s on the outside of the door are shaken, but still able to flee. At the same time, the remaining Khoury grandkids take out the Moran security detail and move on the awaiting escape van.

Just when Dorothy thinks it’s over Moran, not killed by the blast, shoots Ian and wheels on her. Jordan dives in front of the bullet. Taking a shot to his low back. Moran closes, and Jordan unleashes his final bit of anger in a tackle that flings Moran down to the city far below.

In Summary:
When this series began, I had my doubts. Those are all absolved now. Rahal and Fornes crafted a noir that encapsulates some of the same elements you see in the show Fargo with a story about the love of family. The story has many moving pieces and probably will be better accepted in graphic novel or trade format.
