The feature film for Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of Orion! was set for a Japanese debut on February 15th, 2019 and it landed smoothly yesterday there. While we await the worldwide debut in various regions, Warner Bros. Japan has live-streamed their after talk stage greeting with the three leads from the film during one of the premieres. That’s now available below to check out, which naturally isn’t subtitled, but for those that want to see the voice actors and check out some of the goods and footage from the film, the 40-minute after talk is definitely fun.
Katsushi Sakurabi is directing it with Fujino Omori stepping in to write the screenplay. Shigeki Kimoto is on board with the character designs and JC Staff on the animation.
The confirmed returning Japanese cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Bell Cranel, Inori Minase as Hestia, Maaya Uchida as Ririruka Ahde, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Welf Crezzo, and Soma Saito as Herms.
Yen Press currently brings the various novels and manga to North America while Sentai Filmworks handles the home video releases of the anime properties so far.
Check out our review of the first season.
The first season anime adaptation of Fujino Omori’s light novel series was directed by Yoshiki Yamakawa at JC Staff based on scripts and composition by Hideki Shirane and character designs by Shigeko Kimoto.
Plot concept: Some adventurers delve into the sprawling labyrinths beneath the city of Orario to find fame and fortune. Others come to test their skills against the legions of monsters lurking in the darkness below. However, Bell Cranel’s grandfather told him a different reason: it’s a great place to rescue (and subsequently meet) girls! Now that Bell’s a dungeon delver himself, the ladies he’s encountering aren’t the helpless damsels in distress he’d imagined, and one of them, the beautiful swordswoman Ais Wallenstein, keeps rescuing Bell instead. As embarrassing as that is, it’s nothing compared to what happens when goddesses get involved. Freya, Hephaistos, and Loki, with their powerful Familias, are intimidating enough, but there’s one goddess whose relationship with Bell is certain to spark trouble.
