The DC Universe service is getting their second original series off the ground today with the launch of the first episode of Doom Patrol. With a good bit of promotion recently, including a five-minute trailer we’ve got below, the service has now brought out something that definitely appeals to me in the streaming of the opening credits sequences. These kinds of things were a lost art years ago as networks wanted more time for show and to cram more commercials in but a range of new ways of shows being produced has brought them back to the forefront with some wonderful creativity, this one included.
The Doom Patrol group was introduced during the Titans run with an episode focused on them and with a few changes, which included bringing in Timothy Dalton as the Chief, and now we have the show set to premiere tomorrow on the DC Universe service. Ahead of that, we now have a five-minute trailer that gives us a greater look at the project that has us hugely excited and looks to be getting strong advance critical reviews.
The cast includes Timothy Dalton as Niles Caulder, Jake Michaels as Robotman, Dwain Murphy as Negative Man, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Lane, Brendan Fraser as Robotman, and April Bowlby is playing Elasti-Girl. Alan Tudyk is playing the first season villain of Mr. Nobody.
The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities — but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence — and to protect Earth from what they find.

Plot Concept: The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities — but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence — and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of Titans, Doom Patrol will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.
