With plans for a summer 2019 debut, Warner Bros. Japan has revealed that the Ni no Kuni game is getting a feature film. The project has Yoshiyuki Momose directing the film with Akihiro Hino listed as the screenwriter. Joe Hisaishi is on board to do the music composition. All three have been involved in the game series. OLM is set to handle the animation production.
The initial casting revealed Kento Yamazki as yu.
Plot Concept: Yū is a high school student, and his best friend is Haru and his childhood friend is Kotona. Through a certain incident, they travel back and forth between reality and Ni no Kuni. When Kotona’s life is put in danger, the three must make “the ultimate choice.”
