What They Say:
It’s a peaceful day like any other in the cafe Rainy Color. Suddenly, the silence is broken when a girl kicks down the door. Her name is Amami Yoko, and she’s the daughter of the cafe’s owner, Amami Koji. The target of her ire and the cause of all the ruckus is Koji himself. Just then, she catches sight of Rainy Color’s mascot dog, Rain, and freezes. It turns out that she’s afraid of dogs! She trips over the suitcase, topples over, and shatters a vase that Koji was keeping nearby. As punishment for breaking the vase, Yoko is forced to stand in as Rainy Color’s manager for summer vacation.
The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
With everything now formally set for the whole running the cafe thing while her dad is away, Yoko’s walk home after school one day has her coming across the mystery girl. They don’t have too much of an encounter, though Yoko gets insulted in a slight way that upsets her and has her going on about it a fair bit back at the cafe. It looks like Yoko is running themes for their outfits as we start off in maid uniforms but shift to kimonos as part of a new theme, which is cute but comes with its own drawbacks as cleaning one of them after an accident takes a bit of work – and a fair bit of exposure!
In Summary:
While our mystery girl is still flirting around the edges of the show somewhat, we do get a bit more interaction this time around directly. And we get some time with the main group working in the cafe, though it’s more just preparation from the looks of it as I don’t think we’ve seen customers in there yet. It’s a light and harmless show still but one that’s frustrating because while not a huge idea or anything, the seeds are there for some good cuteness if it just wasn’t structure like this.
