Does the girls’ daily life include fighting and not fighting? All the characters from the TV animated series “Katana Maidens” and the smartphone game “Katana Maidens Kizamishi Issen no Tomoshibi” are gathered together in smaller form!

There was a welcome quiet element to the previous episode with the cherry blossom viewing in the evening but you know quiet is not what a lot of short-form shows are about. And especially not Toji no Miko. With this episode, we get some fun monster fighting material to kick things off with but it’s not about that but rather the way there are stress and strains within the group since some, like Kofuki, isn’t keeping up with her studies and training like she should. She’s also one that’s kind of distant from the others and not too into big bonding things and that’s made worse when someone has been eating her pudding as well. She’s an amusing troublemaker but it plays into the bigger idea of the episode about getting along but it takes some comical twists toward the end.

In Summary:
Stinky fish stew, indeed. While there’s someone who will like something that most people don’t, it can still make you cringe. This episode has some fun with Kofuki as she deals with being a part of all this craziness and it plays well across a couple of different areas. It’s not deep or anything but it’s cute and silly in all the right ways and made Kofuki pretty accessible.
