Funimation Sets First ‘Dances with the Dragons’ Anime DVD/BD Preorder Trailer

The spring 2018 anime series Dances with the Dragons is getting its home video release through Funimation and they’re doing some new promotion for it. The complete series is scheduled for an April 2nd, 2019 debut as a DVD/BD bilingual combo set priced at $64.98. It’ll come with a Digital Copy and on-disc extras that include the clean opening and closing sequences as well as some of the promotional videos. Ahead of that release, we now have our first look at how Funimation is going to be promoting it with the preorder trailer.

The project has set Hiroshi Nishikiori as the chief director while Hirokazu Hanai will serve as the hands-on director. Takayo Ikami is handling the series composition while Masaru Kitao will be working on the character designs.

The Japanese cast includes Nobunaga Shimazaki as Gaius Levina Sorel, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Gigina Ashley-Bufh, Yōko Hikasa as Jivunya Lorezzo, Yuko Kaida as Nidvolk, Takaya Hashi as Mordin Orjes Gyunei, Mutsumi Tamura as Yorkan, Yoshino Nanjō as Curaso Opt Koga, Takanori Hoshino as Jesper Livy Raki, Sora Tokui as Berdrit Livy Raki, Akira Ishida, Go Inoue, Atsushi Imaruoka, Motomu Kiyokawa, Hiro Shimono, Tomokazu Sugita, Aya Suzaki, Rintarou Nishi, Rica Matsumoto, Go Inoue as Genon, Atsushi Imaruoka as Herodel, Aya Suzaki as Arzel, Rintarou Nishi as Largonquin, Rica Matsumoto as Javeira, Hiro Shimono as Īgī, Motomu Kiyokawa as Yākutō, Tomokazu Sugita as Remedius, and Akira Ishida as Zuo Rū.

The series English language dub was directed by Tabitha Ray with scripts by Katelyn Barr. The cast includes Garret Storms as Gayus Levina Soleil, Josh Bangle as Gigina Jardi Doruk Meleios Ashley-Bufh, Megan Shipman as Jivenya Lorezzo, Janelle Lutz as Nidvork, Garrett Schenck as Mouldeen Oujes Gunei, Natalie Hoover as Curaçao Opte Kouga, Kyle Igneczi as Horton, Brandon McInnis as Helodel, Jeremy Inman as Rolca Klem Bagfotte, Jad Saxton as Jokanne, Rachael Messer as Xenobia Ilm Jeska, Madeleine Morris as Arzel, and Sonny Strait as Sazaran.

Gigina is a phenomenal fighter who spends his free time with well-crafted chairs. Together, they’re nothing but trouble, and when political intrigue puts opposing nations on the brink of war, this dubious duo finds themselves in the thick of it.
