Viz Media announced their pickup of the BEASTARS manga back in November and it looks like that may have been a smart pickup. While there are no details, the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Champion, where the property is serialized, has indicated that an important announcement is coming up for the manga with the next installment. While not always an anime adaptation, it’s one that you can lean into a bit. Some recent announcements from other titles have been live-action works or drama CDs but there have been anime nods as well.
The manga comes from Paru Itagaki which began in 2016 in Weekly Shonen Champion and has twelve volumes out as of the announcement next week.
Plot Concept: At a high school where the students are literally divided into predators and prey, it’s personal relationships that maintain the fragile peace. Who among them is a Beastar—an academic and social role model destined to become a leader in a society naturally rife with mistrust?
