What They Say
The quarterfinals have begun, and the game of choice is tag! Once the one-hour time limit is up, the three participants who are ‘it’ will be executed! Who will live, and who will die? It’s a desperate struggle for survival as the competition continues!

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
It turns out the three winners didn’t get to walk away with their cash winnings. In fact, they didn’t get to escape Kroel’s world at all. They were combined with 11 other “winners” from other games that had been going on simultaneously. Now there are a total of 14 players in what appears to be the quarterfinals to Kroel’s main game. Through each set of games, players will die for good with only two players winning the final game. That is not very good odds.

The next day, the first competition aims at creating massive tension among the players while also forcing some of them to relive their worst nightmares. It is probably the most brilliant tweaking of hide-and-seek that I have ever seen. By adding some new rules, the game becomes more a battle of wits than physical skill. And we all know; the losers are killed.

During the frenetic turns of events, the more diabolical players attempt to learn the true identities of their competition. Remember, if anyone successfully reveals a player’s identity, that identified person dies instantly. It is a completely different way to win at this game and forces some to rethink the names they gave themselves as they too closely mirror their identity. One player seems to have a good guess at Yuki’s identity. Will Yuki be able to off that player before he gets revealed?

In Summary
The start of the Main Game merges multiple side games into one group of 14 players, with only two players capable of winning back their lives and their cash winnings in the final game. The poor odds quickly rattle the psyche of many of the contestants as they breakdown at the realization they likely won’t make it through future rounds. But some of the characters seem more than happy to find themselves in a larger and longer game. The obvious outcome being more money if they win. However, more than one of the girls seems to be more excited at the potential to see more players die horrible deaths.

The horror component to this series ratchets way up after Kroel gives the competitors a “day off”. The downtime only adds to the mystery of which characters were boys or girls when they were still alive and who is in it for the money versus the sadists. This series continues to be unique and anything but dull.
