Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
With the school battle competitions decided, it is time to relax, unwind, and reflect. Arata is still alive, but he has lost his Demon Lord Candidate powers. This ultimately means the girls of Trinity Seven no longer need to be concerned with Arata becoming the Demon Lord and destroying the world. They could just kick him out of school and never see him again if they choose.

However, there is still the problem of Arata’s two Grimoires, Astil and Ilias. They are sworn to stay with Arata regardless of his position as Demon Lord Candidate or not. Plus, as far as Arata is concerned, nothing has changed for him in his quest to rescue his cousin Hijiri. He is still determined to go all in and enter Dante’s Gate to rescue Hijiri, even if no one has ever returned from the Gate in the past.

With the opening of the Gate nearly a year away, Arata assumed he has plenty of time to come up with a plan. But all that vanishes when the master Grimoire, or mother of all Grimoire’s, appears to retrieve Arata’s Grimoires. Arata and the Trinity Seven aren’t having it, but how can they hope to defeat the mother of all Grimoire’s? This Grimoire holds the knowledge of all the Grimoire’s ever created. Things are looking bleak for a powerless Arata.

In Summary:
This volume brings one arc to a conclusion and begins what could be the final story arc of Trinity Seven. After all, the entire story has evolved around the awakening of the Demon Lord and his taking control of a Demon Lord Candidates body, potentially Arata. With that, this volume resolves some of my questions about the series as far as the Demon Lord and Arata’s relationship are concerned. It also sets up a story arc that could lead to the deaths of some characters. Even if Arata is ultimately successful and survives to the end of the series, I would not be surprised to see some Seven Trinity casualties through the final set of battles against the Demon Lord and his generals.
