We learned back at the end of March 2018 with the conclusion of the Mitsuboshi Colors series based on the manga by Katsuwo that his series Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu is getting an anime adaptation. Set for an April 2019 premiere, the official site has added two more actors to the project along with the visuals that you can see below. Kana Ichinose has joined as Kako Kurai while Konomi Kohara has joined as Kai Yawara.

The show has Takebumi Anzai set to direct it with Jukki Hanada handling the series composition. Kii Tanaka is on board as the character designer and chief animation director with studio C2C handling the animation production.

The previously announced Japanese cast includes Chisaki Morishita as Bocchi Hitori, Minami Tanaka as Nako Sunao, Akari Kitō as Aru Honshō, and Yūko Kurose as Rakita Sotoka.

The original manga began in 2013 from Katsuwo and has four volumes released so far as serialized in Comic Dengeki Daioji.

Check out the official site and Twitter.

Plot Concept: The series focuses on an extremely shy girl named Bocchi Hitori. (Her name is a wordplay on a Japanese term for solitary.) She enters middle school and vows to “make friends with the entire class” by graduation. The story follows her lonely struggle to accomplish her goal.
