I’ll admit, it’s still a little odd that with all the food-related anime adaptations out there that What Did You Eat Yesterday? hasn’t gotten the treatment. That’s not changing fully now but a live-action TV series is in the works according to the latest Morning magazine. The work from Fumi Yoshinaga that’s being released in English by Veritcal Comics is set for an April 2019 debut on TV Tokyo and other broadcasters with details to come in the near future.
The series began in 2007 and has fourteen volumes out in Japan so far with Vertical just one volume behind.
Plot Concept: A hard-working, middle-aged gay couple in Tokyo come to enjoy the finer moments of life through food. After long days at work, either in the law firm or the hair salon, Shiro and Kenji will always have down time together by the dinner table, where they can discuss their troubles, hash out their feelings, and enjoy delicately prepared home-cooked meals!
