Chiya was raised in the woods and most of her friends were animals. But now she needs to find something, and since it may take the skills of an Urara, or fortune teller, to find it, she’s come to the town of Meiro-cho to learn to become an Urara herself.

Sentai Filmworks is bringing something new to Hulu soon as they’ve revealed a January 30th, 2019 debut for the Urara Meirocho series that aired back in the fall of 2017. The series saw a run on The Anime Network at the time and has seen a home video release on Blu-ray already as well. It’ll be in its original Japanese language with English subtitles as no dub was produced for it.

Check out our review of the series.

The project was directed by Youhei Suzuki based on the series composition by Deko Akao. Mai Otsuka worked on the character designs while the series animation was produced by JC Staff.

The Japanese cast includes Sayaka Harada as Chiya, Yurika Kubo as Koume, Haruka Yoshimura as Nono, Kaede Hondo as Kon, Ai Kayano as Nina, Ayaka Suwa as Saku, Yuka Takakura as Ooshima and Hitomi Sasaki as Shiozawa.

The opening theme is “Yumeji Labyrinth” and is performed by the voice actresses under the name Labyrinth while the ending theme is “go to Romance>>>>>” by Luce Twinkle Wink☆.

The manga itself is a straightforward cute girls doing cute things slice of life series that began in 2014. The work is the third from Harikamo after Flag Breaker and Yorumori no Kuni no Sorani.

Plot concept: Chiya was raised in the woods and most of her friends were animals. But now she needs to find something, and since it may take the skills of an Urara, or fortune teller, to find it, she’s come to the town of Meiro-cho to learn to become an Urara herself.

It won’t be easy adjusting… and not just because Chiya still tends to check to see if people have tails or want their tummies rubbed! But the other girls studying at the Natsumeya teahouse are all unusual in their own ways, and it’s clear from the beginning that Chiya’s going to be great friends with studious Kon, rambunctious Koume and shy Nono. And that’s good, because if Chiya’s going to find her missing mother, she’ll need all the help and support she can get!
