The winter 2019 anime series Meiji Tokyo Renka is getting its home video releases handled by TC Entertainment and they’ve set an interesting layout for the project. The show is bringing out two Blu-ray box sets with the show split in half on March 29th and May 29th, 2019 while those same days will also see DVD releases with three DVDs for each release date. The Blu-ray sets are priced at 18,000 yen while the DVDs are priced at 5,800 yen each, basically making them the same but allowing the more mainstream DVD/female audience able to pick them up individually over time as opposed to the big drop in price at once.
The series was directed by Akitarou Daichi with Junko Yamanaka serving as the character designer and chief animation director. TMS Entertainment handled the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Sumire Morohoshi as Mei Ayazuki, Daisuke Namikawa as Ōgai Mori, KENN as Shunsō Hishida, Kousuke Toriumi as Otojirō Kawakami, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Kyōka Izumi, Jun Fukuyama as Gorō Fujita, Shinnosuke Tachibana as Yakumo Koizumi, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Tōsuke Iwasaki, and Toshiyuki Morikawa as Charlie.
The film, based on the game, was directed by Hiroshi Watanabe with Yukiko Uozumi as the co-director. They worked off of the script from Yoshiko Nakamura and character designs from Karu were adapted by Akio Hirakawa.

Plot concept: Sequel to Meiji Tokyo Renka: Yumihari no Serenade, which follows Mei Ayazuki as she travels back in time and falls in love with historical figures.
