How well will a live-action age gap series like this go over? Some things you can get away with a bit more in anime or manga...
Takane & Hana Volume 1

North American manga fans had Viz Media bring out the Takane & Hana series just about this time last year from Yuki Shiwasu and it’s been doing well for them and in Japan. We learned a couple of weeks ago in Hana to Yume magazine that the property will have “big news” with the next issue out on January 19th, 2019. While this usually means an anime adaptation, the reveal arrived and it’s a live-action TV series that will debut beginning in March as an on-demand show on Fuki TV. The lead cast was revealed with Mahiro Takasugi as Takane Saibara and Aisa Takeuchi as Hana Nonomura.

Check out Viz’s minute-long promotional video below as well as a free preview you can read online here. The series began in 2015 as serialized in Hana to Yume magazine where it has eleven volumes released in Japan so far.

Plot Concept: After her older sister refuses to go to an arranged marriage meeting with Takane Saibara, the heir to a vast business fortune, high schooler Hana Nonomura agrees to be her stand-in to save face for the family. But what happens when Hana meets Takane is an unexpected pairing of utter opposites!
