The anime adaptation of the Seishun Buta Yarō light novel, which is being localized as Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, revealed this past summer that a theatrical film is in the works. The official site revealed previously that it’s got a summer 2019 planned premiere and they’ve now brought out the first web promo for it through Twitter that shows off the project well. A worldwide outside of Japan region-locked YouTube video is also available. It confirmed that the staff for the TV series will be on board for it as is the cast.

As noted previously, the project is focusing on the sixth and seventh novels of the source material.

Soichi Masui is directing the TV series based on the series composition by Masahiro Yokotani. Satomi Tamura is adapting the character and serving as the chief animation director with Akira Takata. Animation production is being done by CloverWorks.

The Japanese cast includes Kaito Ishikawa as Sakuta Azusagawa, Asami Seto as Mai Sakurajima, Yurika Kubo as Kaede Azusagawa, Nao Tōyama as Tomoe Koga, Atsumi Tanezaki as Rio Futaba, Maaya Uchida as Nodoka Toyohama, Inori Minase as Shōko Makinohara, Yūma Uchida as Yūma Kunimi, Himika Akaneya as Saki Kamisato, and Satomi Satou as Fumika Nanjō.

Plot Concept: The focus is on a rumor about a mysterious phenomenon call “puberty syndrome.” For example, Sakuta Azusagawa is a high school student who suddenly sees a bunny girl appear in front of him. The girl is actually a girl named Mai Sakurajima, who is Sakuta’s upperclassman who is also a famous actress who has gone on hiatus from the entertainment industry. For some reason, the people around Mai cannot see her bunny-girl figure. Sakuta sets out to solve this mystery, and has he spends time with Mai, he learns her secret feelings. Other heroines who have “puberty syndrome” start to appear in front of Sakuta.
