‘Dr. Stone’ Manga Getting Novel

With Viz Media bringing out the domestic release of Dr. Stone manga series from Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi and the recent reveal that an anime adaptation is set for the summer 2019 season, another piece the in the larger push in Japan has been revealed. A novel is set to be released through Jump j Books by Ichiio Morimoto on February 4th as it adapts the work from Riichirou Inagaki and Boichi. It’s titled Dr. Stone Hoshi no Yume, Chi no Uta which localizes as Dr. Stone Star’s Dream, Earth’s Song.

The Japanese cast for the anime adaptation includes Yusuke Kobayashi as Senku, Makoto Furukawa as Taiju Ōki and Kana Ichinose as Yuzuriha Ogawa, and Yūichi Nakamura as Tsukasa Shishio.

The first volume landed on September 4th, 2018 and the publisher has now put out a promotional video for the manga as well as offering up the first chapter for free viewing here.

Plot Concept: The series tells the story of Taiju, who wakes up hundreds of years after all of humanity was turned to stone. A gloomy Taiju has no idea what to do, until he finds his science-loving friend Senku. The two decide to jump-start civilization again – by harnessing the power of science to de-petrify humanity.
