Originally serialized in Comic Shitsurakuten from the January 2019 installment, Crazy For You is a sixteen-page story from creator Syuuen, who has thirteen other stories on the service as of this writing. I enjoyed a couple of their previous works so I had kept an eye out for more and this one just caught my eye. I typically try to avoid the school age stuff simply because there isn’t much appeal there but having a new chapter just out from this creator and liking their design aesthetic before, a little turn down this road isn’t a bad thing once in a while.
The focus for this story is on Amane, a young woman in high school who is ranked in the top ten academically and is ranked near the top when it comes to her swimming career as well. She grew up with a father that pushed her very hard in both areas and that’s been her focus, which has made her something of an outcast for two reasons. She’s never been able to connect with others because of her schedule and what she has to do there but also because she comes across as tomboyish to many. For the guys, they mainly don’t have any interest in that (the fools) while the girls feel like they have nothing in common with her. This makes for a hard existence for her but she sticks to what she has and that fills up her life, though not completely.
Where things take an unusual turn is when the overweight school janitor toys with her a bit in the bathroom after school one day, as he seems to try to do to a number of girls with no real “success.” Amane, however, revels in his excitement over her as it’s the rare time that she feels wanted and like a woman because of it. Before she knows it, they’re spending the next month engaging in all sorts of sexual activity throughout the school with the secret aspect heightening it. Amane really cuts loose in all of thise, becoming a real sexual dynamo that’s game for most anything it seems, and it’s a lot of fun to watch her just engage and look alive like she does. The janitor isn’t too much of a character but he does play things up and he kind of gets what works for her when you get down to it, making them a weirdly good couple in this regard at least. Syuuen plays with a lot of scenes in brief with this – and even teases this as a potential yuri series for a panel or two – but the bigger sequences for it are fun as we get the bathroom used to good effect as well as a fun sequence with her swimsuit twisted and torn to both their needs.
In Summary
Syuuen has a pretty fun story here overall and I like that they didn’t really shy away from the janitor aspect. He’s not made into a disturbing looking guy like is often done with the older men in these situations but he’s also not a svelte person either. Amane is pretty well handled with the way she views herself and her life, making it easy to understand how she falls in with himand feels completely free in a way she can’t elsewhere. It’s got some appealing artwork to it through I think some of Syuuen’s earlier works are a bit better and more engaging in terms of story and eroticism. I’m definitely keeping them in my creator rotation though as the overall style is definitely good.
