Chi Stalks

What They Say:
Chi is a sweet playful kitten, always full of energy. She gets milk from Yohei, and is relaxing at home, nice and full. As she searches around the house for something exciting, she comes across Yohei walking with a handful of rubber balls. The balls bounce everywhere as he drops them, and Yohei and Chi can’t get more excited. The day ends with Chi and the family making a great memory together.

After a few episodes focusing on Chi’s adventures outside of the home, the series brings us back inside for some silliness. The season opened with a new family member in the goldfish named Flutter and Chi has not lost her desire to play with Flutter and get all paws-on with her. Flutter, for her part, is definitely worried about this but is also amused and torments Chi a bit when Dad stops her from getting into the bowl at Flutter. It doesn’t take much to tweak Chi and just seeing the fish getting time with others – and being stopped herself – sets her on a bad path.

Dad is certainly having fun with Flutter while also taking care of various chores related to having a fish, even a single one, which confuses Chi at times – such as during a tank change as Flutter hs a bigger and newer home. Flutter gets a nice tank with a few cute things inside, including a cat miniature, and is very happy with it going by her expression. Yohei’s excited by it as well and enjoys feeding her, but Chi is beyond excited and just wants to touch her. Dad continues to show some great skill at stopping her which is just hilariously played out with his quick reactions. Sadly, Chi is just obsessive like a lot of cats are in the early stages, if not longer, and the more it goes on the more she wants Flutter.

In Summary:
While the show does get a bit ridiculous with what Flutter is capable of in trying to boot Chi, it’s just fun to watch because of Flutter’s expressions and intensity in dealing with her problem. Chi’s obsessive nature reminds me why I don’t have cats and fish at this point and just casts because I’ve been through that many a time. It’s cute and silly in small doses here and watching as Flutter works out her own anger with Chi on the miniature in the tank is definitely funny. And we do get some good recognition of the overall problem that exists between Yohei and Dad as they actively try to deal with it or minimize it so that everyone is happy.
