Distributor A24 is a company that I’ve been paying a lot of attention to since their release of Ex Machina as they’ve put out a slew of great films in the last few years. Now, the distributor is set to bring out the High Life film from Claire Denis, her first English-language film and one she’s co-written with long-time collaborator Jean-Pol Fargeau and Geoff Cox. Denis has a solid filmography, one that got underway with Chocolat all the way back in 1988, which is why it’s great to see her work with Juliette Binoche again. Check out the first domestic trailer for it below!
Directed by Claire Denis, the film is set for an April 12th, 2019 debut and stars Robert Pattinson as Monte, Juliette Binoche as Dr. Dibs, Mia Goth as Boyse, Lars Eidinger as Chandra, André Benjamin as Tcherny, Agata Buzek as Nansen, Ewan Mitchell as Ettore, Jessie Ross as Willow (Teenager), Scarlett Lindsey as Willow (Baby), Claire Tran as Mink, and Gloria Obianyo as Elektra.
Plot Concept: A group of criminals are sent on an alternative energy finding mission in space. Monte, one of the criminals on board previously had a daughter, Willow, against his will through artificial insemination, but comes to love her as they near the end of their journey.
