The anime adaptation of the Fire Force manga is in the works and it looks like we’re going to get a range of interesting promotion for it. The latest is the reveal that M.A.O. will be playing Iris in the series. That has netted us a new character promo which is quick and to the point as it shows off the character design as well. Yuki Yase is set to direct based on the scripts overseen by Yamato Haishima while Hideyuki Morioka is handling the character designs. David Production is handling the animation for it.

On the casting side, Gakuto Kajiwara is on board as the lead with Shinra Kusakabe and M.A.O. as Iris.

Check out the new key visual and character design visuals below.

Created by Atsuko Ohkubo, the series began in 2015 in Weekly Shonen Magazine and has fifteen volumes out so far. Ohkubo gained a lot of fame for his work on the Soul Eater franchise. Kodansha Comics releases the manga in North America.

Plot Concept: Terror has paralyzed the clockwork metropolis of Tokyo! Possessed by demons, people have begun to burst into flame, leading to the establishment of a special firefighting team: the Fire Force, ready to roll on a moment’s notice to fight spontaneous combustion anywhere it might break out. The team is about to get a very unique addition: Shinra, a boy who possesses the unique power to run at the speed of a rocket, leaving behind the famous “devil’s footprints” (and destroying his shoes in the process). Can the Fire Force discover the source of this strange phenomenon and put a stop to it? Or will the city burn to ashes first?
