Way back in December of 2015, amid the wave of idol anime series as adaptations from various gaming platforms are the place to be these days, we learned that the Ensemble Stars! was planned for a 2016 debut. As we learned in February 2018, a new production committee was working to bring it together after the original project was scrapped.

The new project has Akira working on the series composition, who worked on the scenario for the game itself, and we previously learned that David Production is handling the animation for it and that the game cast will be taking part in the series as well with final confirmations to come.

With a plan for 2019 in place, the first full promotional video has landed that reveals a July 2019 debut for it which you can see below!

Check out the official site and Twitter.

Plot concept: Yumenosaki Private Academy, a school located on a hill facing the ocean. Specializing in boys’ idol training, the school has a long history of producing generations of idols for the entertainment world out of the young men overbrimming with talents, like the shining stars in the sky. Due to “special circumstances,” you are a transfer student at the school, as well as the only female student there. In fact, you are chosen to be the very first student of the “producer course,” and your task is to produce these idols… We hope you will enjoy your journey with the idols you meet at the academy, as well as the vigorous ensemble that together you will make.
