The latest sales rankings have hit from Japan with what was selling in the week before Christmas and it was a pretty strong week considering there were no films driving up the numbers. The final volume of Uma Musume hit just over 14,000 and it’s hard to imagine that a second season isn’t going to get made. the Girls & Panzer set did a strong almost 13,000 units as well, which shows the strength of that property. But we’re super pleased to see Zombieland Saga do so well with the first volume hitting almost 13,000 units. When so many series are barely able to scrape 1-2,000 units – such as Bloom into You getting just under 3,000 units here, that’s big numbers. We also get to see Gridman hitting up well with 7,100 units but also just over 6,000 units sold for the Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere series, which at 38,000 yen per set – or just over $2.1 million in retail sales at list price.
