The Weekly TV Discussion Post For December 23rd, 2018

The end of the year is generally pretty terrible for TV with so many networks having gaps for the holidays. That’s not been as bad a thing in the last couple of years with so many things to binge that have been held off on so I’m hoping to finish a few things. I made it halfway through the third season of Travelers and have that polish off and hopefully starting Daredevil with its third season as well.

It’s been a very quiet week without a lot on to watch but that’s made for more time watching Parts Unknown and getting to explore more of the world, from Glasgow to Myanmar and more. It continues to be one of the shows that I really rave about and encourage people to truly explore and find connections with. And it makes me damn hungry.

The big finish for me this week was the final two episodes of the first season of Titans on the DC Universe service. I’ll be writing separately about that but I had a great run with the show and am excited for the second season. But even more excited for the next three original projects coming up with Doom PatrolSwamp Thing, and Stargirl. And, of course, Young Justice season three.

I did pick up two properties through iTunes that went on sale this week because the price was so right. I’d seen it previously but getting the first season of American Gods for $5 was spot on. I also had all seven seasons of The League go on sale, dropping to $5 a season for the first time as well. The show is utter trash and full of terrible people and I love it so.

I also grabbed the fifth season of Brooklyn 99 in this form as that dropped in price. I had watched that one during broadcast but it was great to reconnect with it ahead of its debut on NBC next month after being canceled on Fox.

Background watching went well this past week too as I had the seventh season of Friends on tap, which was full of fun material involving the whole Monica and Chandler relationship and all of its progress. I’ve not watch the series in well over a decade and I’m loving the revisit.
