With word that Pedro Pascal is in the final negotiations for the leading role in the upcoming original live-action series that will debut on Disney’s new streaming service in 2019 with Star Wars: The Mandalorian, some additional casting is now showing up. Deadline is now reporting that Gina Carano has joined the project in an undisclosed role. Jon Favreau is writing it and working as an executive producer on the series. Dave Filoni of the animated site will be directing the first episode while other directors include Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow, and Rick Famuyiwa. Greg Fraser is of Star Wars: Rogue One is on board as the cinematographer.

Plot Concept: After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
