With the three films for the new Initial D trilogy having come and go both in theaters and home video and with lots of overseas releases, Avex Pictures has one more run to go with it. The company has set a box set release for it with all three films coming out on March 1st, 2019. It’s set to be priced at 6,000 yen, which is pretty sweet as the regular single editions were 5,000 yen each. The set is using the same discs so it’s a three-disc set when it arrives wrapped in a new box.

The film was directed by Masamitsu Hidaka and Sanzigen and LIDEN FILMS based on the screenplay by Mayori Sekijima.
The manga, which began back in 1995, has had multiple anime adaptations over the years while the manga itself has done solidly and appealed to the region in which it takes place as well. The property even had a live-action adaptation along the way.
Property concept: High school student Takumi Fujiwara works as a gas station attendant during the day and a delivery boy for his father’s tofu shop during late nights. Little does he know that his precise driving skills and his father’s modified Toyota Sprinter AE86 Trueno make him the best amateur road racer on Mt. Akina’s highway. Because of this, racing groups from all over the Gunma prefecture issue challenges to Takumi to see if he really has what it takes to be a road legend.
