Crunchyroll Adds ‘Long Riders’ Anime Streaming

2 min read

Crunchyroll has brought another series from the Sentai Filmworks catalog to a new audience with the Long Riders show now available. The series is in its original Japanese language with English subtitles. Availability for it is pretty good with it open to viewers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Central and South America excluding Mexico.

Check out our review of the series.

The show was directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara based on the series composition from Takahashi Natsuko. Jiemon Futsuzawa worked on the character designs.

The Japanese cast includes Nao Touyama as Ami Kurata, Hiromi Igarashi as Aoi Niigaki, Rumi Okubo as Hinako Saijou, Yurika Kurosawa as Yayoi Ichinose and Yoko Hikasa as Saki Takamiya.

The project set Ray to perform the opening theme song for the show. She’s done a number of anime series over the years including the recent AOKANA series.

The series is based on the manga by Taishi Miyake and began back in 2012 and has five volumes released so far. It already stands out a bit because it focuses on university aged students and is looking to capitalize on the Yowamushi Pedal crowd a little bit with its focus on bicycling.

Plot concept: Ami’s always been small, a little clumsy and unsure of herself, unlike her more athletic friend Aoi. But when she sees someone using a folding bicycle on the way home from University, she realizes that the compact bike might be a perfect fit for her. Plus it’s really, really cute.

Before you know it, Ami’s bought her own bicycle and she and Aoi are going on biking trips together! Suddenly Ami’s world is so much bigger as she and Aoi meet a whole new group of friends who share their love of this sport, and the thrill of competing in long distance cycling events. Join in the fun and share in the adventure as a group of young women discover the joy of hitting the streets and touring Japan under their own power!
