I had missed this when the details first came out but now the full run for the Fate/EXTRA Last Encore property has been set. While we’ve got a couple of weeks to go before the fourth volume arrives on November 7th, 2018, we now have a good look at the main cover artwork. The show is getting a six-volume release that was originally set to begin on May 23rd but was pushed back to August 1st, 2018 where both formats are listed as limited editions. The DVDs are priced at 7,000 yen and the Blu-rays at 8,000 yen. Check the full schedule below and available artwork!
Type-Moon and Marvelous are credited for the original work and original Fate/stay night creator Kinoko Nasu is handling series composition. Aruko Wada created the original character designs with Hiroki Yamamura adapting them with animation studio SHAFT producing the animation.
The Japanese cast includes Atsushi Abe as Hakuno Kishinami, Sakura Tange as Saber, Urara Takano as Rider, Kousuke Toriumi as Archer, Ai Nonaka as Caster, Kunihiko Yasui as Berserker, Takahiro Mizushima as Gawain, Kana Ueda as Rin Tohsaka, Hiroshi Kamiya as Shinji Matō, and Noriko Shitaya as Sakura Matō.
The Fate/EXTRA game was originally released in Japan for the PlayStation Portable by Marvelous Entertainment and Type-Moon in 2010. Aksys Games localized and released the game in North America in 2011. A follow-up game, Fate/EXTRA CCC was released in Japan in 2013, featuring an opening movie animated by SHAFT which was directed by Akiyuki Shinbo.
Game Concept: Waking up in a strange virtual world with no recollection of the past, the main character finds themselves forced to fight for survival in a war they do not understand for a prize beyond value; the opportunity to have one’s wish granted. With only an enigmatic “Servant” by their side, the protagonist will have to face both friends and foes in battles to the death in order to not only gain possession of a mysterious object known as the “Holy Grail,” but also to find the answer to the most important question of all: “Who am I?”
