What They Say:
Chi is a sweet playful kitten, always full of energy. She gets milk from Yohei, and is relaxing at home, nice and full. As she searches around the house for something exciting, she comes across Yohei walking with a handful of rubber balls. The balls bounce everywhere as he drops them, and Yohei and Chi can’t get more excited. The day ends with Chi and the family making a great memory together.

There was a lot to like the last time around in seeing Chi and Come-Com working so well together to protect their fish as we got so many other cats chasing them. While it went comically over the top in some ways I did really enjoy the whole laser-eye like aspect of it all with the purple eyes and intensity. And that Blackie and other “senior” cats couldn’t resist the allure of the fish either. This time, things got a bit smaller as it turns its focus back home, or at least on the family side of things. Chi’s definitely one of those rare lucky cats that manages to get out into the world on family trips.
Watching Chi chase butterflies is definitely fun because of her enthusiasm and this gives mom an idea as she decides to take the park as part of their summer fun. There aren’t a lot of mothers that would take their kids to go find bugs to bring home but it plays well here and there’s a lot of fun things for them to all look at, from ants in a row to a giant dragonfly. But it’s his mom who claims to have a great history of catching bugs and they definitely have fun with it as she steps up to bond with her son – while trying to keep Chi from messing it all up! There’s even a fun game in trying to go after a cicada along the way that’s adorable with Chi trying to understand it all.
`In Summary:
There’s a lot to like with this episode – unless you hate bugs – as the time between mother and son is really well handled. There’s a nice calmness and encouragement to it with some mild teaching in the mix to a child willing to hear. Chi has some really adorable moments as well and bringing it all together at the end as a family event hits a nice little sweet spot to show the bond that they share in a simple but effective way. It’s simple and silly and very, very cute.
