The Weekly Movies Discussion Post For October 7th, 2018

2 min read

Some weeks are just so busy that there’s practically no time to watch movies and those are among the most frustrating. It’s partially why I haven’t canceled my MoviePass account yet because while I hope they do turn things around and it can get back to what it was a little bit, at least in terms of selection, I haven’t really had the time to go to the theater, never mind watch much at home.

This past week had me really just seeing the Tag movie – twice. Once with my daughter who missed it in the theater earlier this year and then a few days later with my significant other who hadn’t seen it. The film really does hold up well for me in the way that comedies often can’t so I’m enjoying having that in a bit of rotation with a fun cast and some crazy silly moments.

Beyond that I’ve ended up adding just one movie to Netflix to check out with Nappily Ever After since I like all the actors in it a whole lot.

This weekend saw Venom hit theatrically and I really wanted to see it and A Star is Born and I know a lot more are coming down the road for me, which is why Sinemia is likely in my near-future. We saw a lot of crazy trailers out of NYCC this weekend with Mortal Engines looking particularly great and I’m totally digging the expanded look on Aquaman. I have really high hopes for it and that it can achieve some of what Wonder Woman did but with nailing the third act in a far better way.

What was on your movie plate this past week?
