The summer 2018 anime series Hyakuren no Haō to Seiyaku no Valkyria, which is being localized as The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar, is getting its Japanese home video releases handled by Zero-A. With the first volume out a couple of days ago we now have a look at larger sized artwork for the release to get a handle on how the remaining volumes will go. The distributor began the releases on September 19th, 2018 where there twelve episodes are getting a four-volume release. The DVDs are priced at 7,000 yen each while the Blu-ray’s are priced at 8,500 yen each. Both formats have a CD included with each release.
The series has Kousuke Kobayashi directing it based on the series composition by Natsuko Takahashi. Mariko Ito is on board as the character designer and co-chief animation director with Miyako Yatsu. ETM Squared is handling the animation production for it.
The Japanese cast includes Kōdai Sakai as Yuuto, Rie Suegara as Felicia, Arisa Date as Sigrun, Maki Kawase as Ingrid, Kanon Takao as Linnea, and Aya Uchida as Mitsuki.
Aya Uchida is doing double-duty here as she’ll be performing the opening theme song for the show while petit milady will handle the ending theme song, both of which will have titles revealed later.
The property comes from writer Seiichi Takayama and artist Yukisan which began in 2013 and has fifteen volumes out as of spring 2018 through Hobby Japan. A manga from Chany is available in Japan that has three volumes out. J-Novel Club has the first four chapters on their site for members while non-members can check out the first part, which is how they usually roll.
Plot Concept: Some urban legends are best left untested! Yuuto Suoh gets more than he bargained for when he joins his childhood friend Mitsuki Shimoya in testing out an urban legend. When he uses his phone to take a picture of himself with the local shrine’s divine mirror, he is whisked off into another world – one heavily steeped in the lore of the old Norse myths. Using his knowledge gained from school and from his solar-powered smartphone, he has the chance to bring the Wolf Clan, the same people who cared for him, to prominence, all while earning the adoration of a group of magic-wielding warrior maidens known as the Einherjar.
