The summer series Ongaku Shojo is moving right along with new episodes coming out weekly on a couple of different services. With several episodes out so far, the official site and social media have dropped a fun new music video of sorts for it focusing on the ending song of the series “To The Sky Of Freedom” which is performed by Sumire Uesaka as Kiri Mukae. The CD for it is being released on September 19th, 2018 in Japan!

The show is directed by Yukio Nishimoto based on the series composition by Deko Akao. Momoka Komatsu is adapting the character designs from what Matsuri Santa originally created. Studio DEEN is handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Seria Fukagawa as Hanako Yamadaki, Karin Takahashi as Sasame Mitsukuri, Miho Okazaki as Mirai Nishio, Yuko Ōno as Yukino Hinata, Miyuri Shimabukuro as Shoop Gushiken, Nako Eguchi as Roro Morooka, Lynn as Kotoko Kintoki, Yui Ogura as Haori Mukae, Sumire Uesaka as Kiri Mukae, Manami Numakura as Haru Chitose, Asami Seto as Eri Kumagai, and Mai Fuchigami as Sarasa Ryūō.

Plot Concept: The series follows Hanako Yamadaki when she encounters the obscure, low-selling 11-member “C-list” idol unit Ongaku Shōjo. Their producer Ikehashi thinks the unit needs a new member. Together, Ongaku Shōjo and Hanako strive for the top of the music world.
