The Weekly Anime Discussion Post For September 16th, 2018

A new week of anime arrived and it moved us closer to a lot of finales as the summer season is wrapping up. Which is a frightening thing to realize, though I’ve been more occupied with the start of school since having two teenagers means there’s a lot to soak up  – especially with one in college now. That’s meant a change in my schedule some so I haven’t burned through as much anime as usual combined with other events going on.

I did, however, get multiple packages of anime and manga out the door for reviewers and have gotten one new reviewer fully settled with Dan this past week or so. Now to try and finalize things with a couple of others.

For me, it’s still mostly just about the shorts and One Piece when it comes to simulcasts because that’s about all I have time for when I watch almost a full series every day on Blu-ray. And with some good stacks of stuff in and more coming on Tuesday, I’ve gotta burn through it as quick as I can.

We have some good stuff coming up this week that we’re watching and scheduling that includes:

Gamers proved to be a lot more fun than I expected, even if I initially though it was the second season of New Game… 😀

Oh man, Black Clover was a show I went into with low expectations and came away jonesing for more episodes the minute it ended.

The Scum’s Wish series is currently the show to beat for best new series I’ve seen this year on home video.

Going back to 2005 to watch Negima! for the first time since Funimation released it was surreal. Watching it on Blu-ray for the first time and with it being released by Sentai Filmworks just upped the weirdness.

And this weekend had me starting this lovely series with the 1984 version, which is a fascinating thing to watch after previously seeing and reviewing the 90’s series.
