Frontier Works Delays 2013 ‘Super Seisyun Brothers’ Anime Series DVD Release

2 min read

Super Seisyun BrothersThe fall 2013 anime series Super Seisyun Brothers got the nod back in March for a home video release from Frontier Works after only getting CD releases previously. The short-form series ran for fourteen episodes and was slotted single volume DVD release on October 5th, 2018 priced at 4,000 yen. That now seems to be in doubt as Amazon Japan has removed their listings for it – though some other retailers still have it up. Amazon’s usually a good bellwether for it though so we’re going to slot it into the delayed category.

The show, animated by AIC Plus+, had Masahiro Takata directing based on the series composition by Tomoko Konparu with character designs by Noriko Morishima. The josei manga that the series is based on premiered back in November of 2012 so there wasn’t aa lot to it yet through its serialization in Comic Polaris. The show was the first adaptation into anime for Shin Shinmoto whose previous works include Access and Komugi to Sekai no Ryouri-kunAccess only ran for two volumes in 2011 to 2012 with seven chapters, with Shinmoto doing just the artwork while Tetsuya Honda wrote the story, while Komugi to Sekai no Ryouri-kun was a one-shot that Sh8inmoto wrote and drew in 2011 that ran in LaLa DX.

Plot Concept: The story involves two pairs of teenage elder sister and younger brother, Niimoto’s who are a bit of narcissist and Saitou’s who look a bit mysterious, and their everyday life in school and at home.
