Funimation Sets New San Japan Anime Release Announcements

Funimation had their panel at San Japan today where they talked anime with the audience and made three reveals of new releases coming up just ahead of the holidays this year with:

Anime-Gataris – December 11th, 2018 as a DVD/BD/Digital set

The project was directed by Kenshirou Torii based on the series composition by Mitsutaka Hirota. Soushi Kinutani served as the character designer and chief animation director with WAO World handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Kaede Hondo as Minoa Asagaya, Sayaka Senbongi as Arisu Kamiigusa, Hisako Tojo as Miko Kouenji, Rie Takahashi as Yui Obata, Rie Takahashi as Yui Obata, Junta Terashima as Kouki Nakano, Setsuo Itou as Kai Musashisakai, Anju Inami Erika Aoyama, Natsumi Takamori as Ayame Ōzaki, Asuka Nishi as Tsubaki Akabane, Miyu Takagi as Matsuri Toda, Kana Hanazawa as Yan Beibei, Makoto Furukawa as Masato Gomon, and Naomi Maruyama as Tōru Roppongi.

With the English language dub, Dave Trosko is serving as the ADR director with Clint Bickham working on the scripts. The Englih cast includes Dawn M. Bennett as Minoa, Alison Viktorin as Arisu, Brad Smeaton as Neko Senpai, Alejandro Saab as Musashisakai Kai, Elizabeth Maxwell as Miko, Kristen McGuire as Yui, Felecia Angelle as Erika, Jordan Dash Cruz as Aurora Kouiki, Jamie Marchi as Tsubaki, Jeannie Tirado as Ayame, J. Michael Tatum as Tooru, Megan Shipman as Matsuri, Trina Nishimura as Bei Bei, Cris George as Masato, Katelyn Barr as Maya, Kyle Phillips as Shugo, and Natalie Hoover as Ai.

The opening theme song is “Akitoba” as performed by GARNiDELia while the ending theme “Good Luck Lilac” is performed by the three lead actresses.

Plot Concept: Minoa Asagaya entered Sakaneko Gakuen this Spring. As an anime beginner, she is invited by her classmate Arisu Kamiigusa to establish an anime research club together. Upon meeting Miko Kouenji and other upperclassmen who like anime, Minoa is gradually drawn into anime. While they fight against the student council that wants to disband the club, they unknowingly get caught up in the world destruction while enjoying discussing anime at the club room, Akihabara, Onsen, and visiting real-life locations.

Konohana Kitan – December 11th, 2018 as a DVD/BD/Digital set

Hideko Okamoto directed it with the series composition by Takao Yoshioka. Keiko Kurosawa worked on the character designs and studio Lerche produced the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Yuuko Oono as Yuzu, Sawako Hata as Satsuki, Ayaka Suwa as Natsume, Risa Kubota as Ren, Ai Kakuma as Sakura, and Manami Numakura as Kiri.

The series has set Jad Saxton and Clifford Chapin as the ADR directors working from the scripts by Deborah Crane. The main cast has been confirmed with Lindsay Seidel as Yuzu, Dawn M. Bennett as Satsuki, Morgan Garrett as Kiri, Emily Fajardo as Natsume, Kate Oxley as Ren, and Jad Saxton as Sakura.

Plot Concept: Tucked away in a village inhabited by yokai is a beautiful hot spring inn waiting to greet travelers from all around. Working here are several cute fox mononoke, including their newest employee, Yuzu. Clumsy and a little oblivious, Yuzu charms everyone around her while learning what it takes to work in this high-class inn!

Urahara – December 18th, 2018 as a DVD/BD/Digital set

The series was directed by Amika Kubo with Masatsugu Arakawa serving as the chief director. Natsuko Takahashi is handling the series composition while Mariko Fujita is working on character designs. Shirogumi and EMT2 are handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Sumire Uesaka as Mari Shirako, Manaka Iwami as Kotoko Watatsumugi, Luna Haruna as Rito Sudou, Kokoa Amano as Misa Maruno, Yasunori Matsumoto as Ebifurya, and Riho Iida as Sayumin.

Jeremy Inman served as the ADR director for it with Emily Neves handling the scripts for it. The English cast includes Sarah Wiedenheft as Kotoko, Julie Shields as Rito, Alexis Tipton as Mari, Anthony Bowling as Ebifurya, Monica Rial as Misa, and Chris Wehkamp as Ebi.

Sumire Uesaka is performing the opening theme song “Antithese Escape” while Luna Haruna is performing the ending theme song.

Plot Concept: Several years from now, the great cities of the world will be destroyed by creatures from another planet. Their next target is…Tokyo’s famed Harajuku district! Only a trio of treasure-seeking shop girls can hope to save the day. But first, do they have what it takes to become members of the PARK Harajuku: Crisis Team?
