We learned back at the end of March with the conclusion of the Mitsuboshi Colors series based on the manga by Katsuwo that his series Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu is getting an anime adaptation. The official site has now revealed some of the details for what’s now slotted for the spring 2019 season with Takebumi Anzai being set to direct it with Jukki Hanada handling the series composition. Kii Tanaka is on board as the character designer and chief animation director with studio C2C handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Chisaki Morishita as Bocchi Hitori and Minami Tanaka as Nako Sunao.

The original manga began in 2013 from Katsuwo and has four volumes released so far as serialized in Comic Dengeki Daioji.

Check out the official site and Twitter.

Plot Concept: The series focuses on an extremely shy girl named Bocchi Hitori. (Her name is a wordplay on a Japanese term for solitary.) She enters middle school and vows to “make friends with the entire class” by graduation. The story follows her lonely struggle to accomplish her goal.
