With a couple of teasers over the past month or so between SDCC and more mainstream approaches, Netflix has set their final trailer for the next round of Iron Fist. The second season has a September 7th, 2018 debut date on Netflix and the 2 1/2 minute trailer covers a fair bit of action material for it while setting some of the emotional foundations for it as well. It’s definitely good to see Misty making an appearance here after Colleen crossed over into Luke Cage with his second season and hopefully we see Luke showing up here as well for a bit.
This season brings the change of Raven Metzner of Sleepy Hollow coming on board as the showrunner and we also learned at SDCC that Alice Eve has joined the project to take on the role of Typhoid Mary.
According to Marvel’s Jeph Loeb, “Raven’s love of all things Iron Fist and his extensive knowledge of martial arts films made him the perfect choice to continue telling the adventures of Danny Rand and Colleen Wing. Season 1 and The Defenders are only the beginning of this fantastic action-packed tale.”
The series stars Finn Jones as Danny Rand, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, Sacha Dhawan as Davos, and Simone Missick as Misty Knight.
Plot concept: Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.
