With the debut of the anime adaptation of the Asobi Asobase manga out now, Crunchyroll is streaming the series themselves and doing some new promotion for it. That comes in the form of the opening sequence being streamed, which we always enjoy since they’re great to share and it’s usually a good way to start off a new day with some music. Seiji Kishi is directing it based on the series composition by Yuuko Kakihara. Keiko Kurosawa is handling the character designs and studio Lerche is handling the animation production for it.

The Japanese cast includes Hina Kino as Hanako Honda, Rika Nagae as Olivia, Konomi Kohara as Kasumi Nomura, Ryotaro Okiayu as Maeda, Honoka Inoue as Student Council President, Mai Kanazawa as Oka-san, Megumi Toda as Agrippa, Aoi Yūki as Tsugumi Aozora, Ryōko Maekawa as Higuchi-sensei, Yasunori Masutani as Sainan-sensei, Mitsuki Saiga as Takayanagi-sensei, Eishin Fudemura as Kentarō Honda, and Maki Izawa as the Narrator.

The manga comes from Rin Suzukawa after kicking off in 2015 with five volumes out.

Plot Concept: The story focuses on three classmates who play simple hand games. One of the girls is good at games, but hates them as she always lost to her older sister and forced to do chores while growing up. Another girl is of American descent, but raised in Japan, and who only pretends to be bad at Japanese. Another girl usually observes their games, and loses to the other girls.
