First ‘Aquaman’ Theatrical Poster Arrives

2 min read

With a planned December 21st, 2018 release, it’s been pretty quiet overall for a long time regarding the upcoming Aquaman film as Warner Bros. and DC Films have been working plans for their larger slate. The film is getting closer and a trailer should be coming soon as Warner Bros. has now released the first official trailer for the film that lets us see our leading man under the sea.

The film is set to be directed by James Wan  and will star Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Ludi Lin as Murk.

Wan previously described the film, saying, “I kind of don’t want to give too much away but know this: The spirit that I’m going for is like a classic sort of swashbuckling action adventure, sort of high seas adventure story…It’s ultimately a quest story in the spirit of Raiders of the Lost Ark meets Romancing the Stone.”

Plot concept: The reluctant ruler of Atlantis, caught between a surface world constantly ravaging the sea and Atlanteans looking to lash out in revolt.
