‘Okko’s Inn’ Anime Premiere Scheduled

2 min read

With the TV series out this spring for Wakaokami wa Shogakusei, which didn’t get a simulcast pickup, and the home video releases scheduled, the focus is now on the film. The film is coming up on September 21st, 2018 in Japan with the name Okko’s Inn and a new theatrical trailer has landed that clocks in at about 90-seconds. It provides a good look at the project with some of the accolades from recent art circuit showings that it’s had as well. Check out a new theatrical poster below as well.

Kitaro Kousaka is directing this with Reiko Yoshida handling the screenplay. Animation Production is handled by DLE and Madhouse.

The Japanese cast includes Seiran Kobayashi as Oriko “Okko” Seki, Etsuko Kozakura as Suzuki, Masaki Terasoma as Kōnosuke “Kō-san” Minoda, Nana Mizuki as Matsuki Akino, Satsumi Matsuda as Makoto “Uri-bō” Tachiuri, Teiyu Ichiryusai as Etsuko Tajima, and Youko Asagami as Mineko Seki.

Plot Concept: After losing her parents in a car accident, Okko starts living with her grandmother in the countryside who runs a hot-spring ryokan – traditional Japanese inn. There, the young girl can somehow see friendly ghosts who help her get used to the ryokan life, and she becomes the apprentice as its future proprietress after her grandmother.
