First ‘Overlord III’ Anime Episode Previewed

The Overlord III season brought out a premiere date recently confirming a July 10th, 2018 premiere for the new season and the promotion is underway. Kadokawa has now brought out a preview of the first episode with two commercial spots for it and a commercial for the series overall. It’s being animated by Madhouse with Naoyuki Itou directing it based on scripts by Yukie Sugawara and character designs by Takahiro Yoshimatsu as they adapt from the original works.

Crunchyroll and Funimation worked together to stream the second season and the third is expected to unfold in the same way.

The series comes from author Kugane Maruyama with illustrations by so-bin that’s published by Enterbrain. It began in the summer of 2012 and released its twelve volume so far, which are released by Yen Press domestically along with the manga adaptation. The series has had two drama CDs released with previous volumes.

The series will star Kenta Miyake as Cocytus, Manami Numakura as Narberal Gamma, Masayuki Katou as Demiurge, Shigeru Chiba as Sebas Tian and Yumi Uchiyama as Mare Bello Fiore.

Plot Concept: The series follows a salaryman who remains online when the service for an MMORPG ends. In doing so, he becomes a powerful skeletal wizard. In his new form, he begins attracting followers and conquering the digital world that remains.
