Originally serialized in Comic Kairakuten from the July 2018 installment, A Time For 2 is a twenty page story from creator SAVAN, who has a whole lot of work on the service and some of which I’ve really enjoyed before. It’s been a bit since I saw some of SAVANs work but this reminds me why I enjoy it so much as the character designs are great. While our male character may look a bit on the young side, our female lead is just very attractively illustrated here and with the horse riding outfit included with it the whole thing connects very, very well. But what works best is the way SAVAN handles the dialogue and tone of it where there’s just such a good layer of playfulness about it.
The premise is fun here as we get to see Mio and Hiro as they deal with some of their horse riding training/competition material. Both have done well but Hiro is hanging out with this girl who praises Mio and that just sets off her jealousy. So when she gets the chance she draws him into the stable after getting the horses settled and makes it clear that she wants him and wants him now. It’s made clear that the two have had prior relations and a pretty good dynamic between them but it’s Mio that really wins out here. She has such an engaging sexual personality about her as she dominates over Hiro at the start with what she wants but then gets all seductive in getting him to undress her and really pleasure her hard and past the point of control quickly.
Once everyone is stripped down the story really just moves forward. There’s a lot of positioning here but it’s Mio’s character design that really shines as the roundness of her face and the shape of her body with the confidence she has really captivates – particularly with that smile and how much she enjoys everything. The layouts are fantastic here and just the kind of really into it feeling that both Mio and Hiro have about themselves throughout it, combined with the bit of jealousy being talked about, drives home for a really strong installment. Mio’s got the look that I don’t find in hentai manga too often and just the whole sequence early on with her laying on her side asking him to undress her was fantastic.
In Summary
While the story itself is a bit light and it feels like it’s in the midst of a larger storyline, A Time for 2 has a lot to offer. The big draw really is the artwork but SAVAN spends more than enough time to build some good story elements to drive the intensity of the scene once it unfolds. The layouts are great, the backgrounds solid, and the character designs along with the costumes for riding the horses is definitely closing in on a certain kind of fetish material without crossing the line. It’s a lot of fun and just made me grin throughout the whole thing enjoying every page and every panel while wanting more.
